SILA is a publication that explores women’s relationships with their bodies, by sharing their journeys to body positivity, self-love, and acceptance. The project seeks to explore this topic in our current society that has heavily distorted beauty standards - to empower women by providing understanding, support, and community.
SILA is committed to creating a safe and supportive community that strives to change the mindset that our worth is based on measuring up to society’s distorted beauty standards and instead remind women that; each and every one of us is a glorious, complex, imperfectly perfect human who deserves to be treated with respect and love from ourselves and others, because we are worthy.
Design Process
This social issue has long been important to me. What began as an imagined photography series soon expanded into so much more -through dedication and creativity, SILA was born.
With the support of women who resonate with this message, SILA came to life. They courageously stepped in front of the camera and shared their stories, inspiring women to feel empowered and supported as we challenge society’s distorted beauty standards.
